this story was promising and I can tell that there was heart put into it! I do have a few critiques, however. most glaringly, the portrayal of Hispanic characters felt a bit... stereotypical. I don't claim to know anything about the author, though, so I won't say anything I can't justify. another big issue is the author's tendency to sort of over explain and tell the reader everything happening. in literature, it's better to leave more things up to the imagination than explain the small details (like clothes), because over explaining can really take you out of the story, and it feels really amateur. I really liked the premise and the characters, though! lots of potential!
