J.C. Barnard was born in Dallas, Texas. His family moved when he was very young to Santa Rosa, California, where he still lives today. He graduated from UC Davis in 2020 with a BA in English and an emphasis in creative writing. He works for a local startup company as a tech writer and editor. He enjoys writing, playing volleyball, watching baseball, reading, “borrowing” from better authors for his writing, and generally staying indoors.
